Very Large Hand Painted Jacobian Pattern Hat Box 15.5x11.5x7.5deep
This is a hand painted paste box that was used in the 18th century. They were used to hold an assortment of items such as sewing, buttons, and gifts, hats or bonnets and clothing.
It was hand painted on the inside and outside then the Jacobian pattern was hand drawn on the top and hand painted in a variety of colors. It was then sealed on the inside and outside for added protection of the box and the painting.
